My name is Hobbit, I am an 11 month old lab mix and after travelling from Taiwan just over two weeks ago, I am finally ready to find my forever family here in Canada!
Though I am young, I am extremely calm and gentle for my age but I am also very shy. Loud noises, fast movements and new people can make me scared, so I wouldn’t go great in a house with young kids. I scare easily but once I start to familiarize myself with new people and situations, I do start to come out of my shell so I will require a bit of patience at the beginning but I have lots of love and cuddles to give.
I live in a home with my older but smaller shih-zu brother, and I look up to him on guidance for everything. He has taught me to come out of my shell, to adapt to new situations and how to handle new things, and for that I will need a home with another fur sibling that will take on that role. There are also two cats in the home, but I don’t pay much attention to them, we happily just share the space and move on with our lives.
I do need to you to spend time teaching me the basic commands, however I am completely house trained. I spent the first few days at my fosters in my crate, however once I realized the nice new home I had, I prefer not to be back in it and do much better on a nice warm dog bed and though I am teething, I just need some toys and bones to keep me busy and I am a happy little guy. I am a great sharer with both my humans and fur siblings and show no signs of aggression or guarding with food, treats, toys or my bed.
Foster mom says I am the sweetest, gentlest and loving puppy she has ever met. Though she’ll be said to see me go, she will be happy to know the love I will get to give to my next family.
If you have a nice, quieter household with another dog and have some love and patience to share with me, fill out an application here! https://www.hankshaven.ca/forms/form?formid=6146
